French National Honor Society

Scott High School’s chapter of the Société Nationale Honoraire de Français meets the guidelines established by the national organization. For membership, students must have completed three terms (semesters/trimesters) of French. During this period, (s)he must have maintained A’s (only one B is permissible—either for a term or an exam, but not both). The student must also have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.0. The French National Honor Society collaborates with the French Club in sponsoring the National French Week festivities. While its annual fundraiser is a Valentine flower sale, it also has an ongoing electronics recycling project.

French National Honor Society officers and students are advised by the French teacher, but it is the members who make the decisions for the organization. Students in this group receive a red-white-blue honor cord to wear for the school’s graduation ceremony.
We meet bi-monthly at a time determined by the chapter.
